The federal government has announced a national rebate

The federal government has announced a national rebate for home owners who install a rainwater tank. The tank must be at least 2000L in capacity and plumbed to feed toilets or a washing machine inside the house.

"Australian households will be eligible for a rebate of up to $500 each for the purchase of a rainwater tank or a greywater system” see the press release from Senator Penny Wong here: www.environment.gov.au - statement

The rebate is available to all home owners in Australia, except those in Adelaide. The rebate will be on offer from 30/01/2009 to 31/03/2014, and only applies to water tanks purchased after 30/01/2009.
